First Sister Missionary from Turkey!

I received some happy, happy news this week that I want to share with you all.

The FIRST EVER sister missionary from Turkey received her mission call!

"What added more to [my] joy" was that back in 2013, I was able to take part in this sister's missionary lessons when she was investigating the Church!! [Alma 17:2]

I had the wonderful opportunity to be a branch missionary in the Istanbul branch. As I don't speak Turkish, this was a slightly intimidating calling. President Cakir assured me that the spirit would help and that I would find joy being involved in this work.

I participated actively in the lessons of two people in Turkey - one brother (I spoke at his baptism) and the other was a sister, named Seda. Seda was around 16 years old at the time, didn't have close family and lived with distant relatives, but was just so engaged in the gospel. She studied 2 Ne 2 over and over and came to each missionary lesson with lists of questions that she'd write down during the week.

Seda and I kept in contact on and off via email but her English is limited and my Turkish is non-existant so we were limited in what we could talk about. :) But all I can say is: Berlin, you're getting a STELLAR sister missionary over there!

Oh my goodness, I'm so unbelievably happy. My blessing talks about the joy I will have seeing others enter the waters of baptism and this is DEFINITELY one of those moments!

Joy in the gospel, my friends!

Destiny

Seda is third from the left. This photo was taken when I was living in Istanbul in 2013.
